The doors of Can Soleil – Cala Llentia How to get there?

puertas de cala llentia

Cala Llentia is a beautiful beach located in the west of the island of Ibiza. It is known for its azure blue waters, white sand and brutal natural beauty. However, what this cove is most famous for is its impressive doors, without a doubt the most visited in 2024 in this cove.

The two huge doors facing each other, Built of wood and carved with beautiful Arabic engravings, they represent and symbolize a small square room without walls, a somewhat strange work of art to walk between the beaches of Cala Codolar and Cala Llentia. The monument is called Las Puertas de Can Soleil because it is located on the property of Guy Laliberté, best known for being the founder of Cirque du Soleil.

Ibiza's doors to heaven.

The doors of Can Soleil are a perfect example of the beauty and craftsmanship that can be found in traditional Ibizan architecture. These doors show different Arabic engravings and features, among which a hamsa, also known as the Hand of Fatima, stands out. This is a common element in both Muslim and Hispanic Jewish cultures. As an amulet, the Hand of Fatima was used by the Carthaginians since 820 BC. C., and in North Africa it was associated with an attribute of the Ibizan goddess Tanit.

Sunset through the doors

With doors open to the horizon you will be able to see Es Vedra from the correct angle between the two doors, a super beautiful image that you cannot miss. Upon arrival evening you will be able to observe a beautiful sunset passing the sun through the two doors next to Es Vedra, without a doubt a unique moment.

It won't be the same as watching a beautiful sunset with your boat rental in Es Vedrá or FormenteraBut from this point of the island, you can get a good snapshot of the gates and the Sunset.

How to get to Can Soleil

It is located in the same direction and road that leads to Cala Comte. About 3 km before reaching Cala Comte there is a path on the left, marked on a large stone on the ground that says Can Soleil. You have to take this path and get to the Cala Codolar parking. Leave the motorcycle or car and you will have to walk for about 2-3 minutes on a downhill path until you find the doors.

The accessible and free space, the doors are located in an empty room without walls, only delimited by a low stone wall built on a mosaic floor, a mixture of sand, stone and tiles.

Don't miss this wonderful place on the island!
